What could our working and economic world look like in the future if purpose were its guiding principle? For many people, the question of the meaning of their work is becoming increasingly important. Companies are already responding to this, not least in view of the shortage of skilled workers, with new working models - keyword "New Work". The study looks at the so-called "purpose economy", in which meaningfulness guides economic activity. It describes the core aspects of a possible purpose economy and outlines four plausible future scenarios, from "sustainable reorientation" and "growth and competition" to "focused resilience" and "agile on sight", to show whether and how a "purpose economy" model could change the economy and work in the long term.
