Up to 40 per cent of all retailing in the industrialised nations could be taking place online in ten years’ time. Up to 30 per cent is possible in the emerging economies. E-commerce already accounts for eight per cent of total retail volumes. Logistics play a central role here. These are some of the key findings of the study Global E-Tailing 2025. The study, which was initiated by Deutsche Post DHL and is the result of a collaboration between Z_punkt and See More, is the first scenario study on international online retailing and its implications for the logistics sector that is global in its outlook.
