This publication provides insight into the research project "Building of Tomorrow" commissioned by Zukunft Bau, which was conceived and carried out by Z_punkt together with Arup. The focus was on the question of which course must be set in order to positively shape the building of tomorrow. How can we meet the challenges of the present and create a sustainable, livable environment? Which topics will be decisive in the future when it comes to shaping the building world of tomorrow? Within the framework of the research project, central future topics were identified on the basis of an analysis of the building world - and with the involvement of external experts - which are particularly relevant for the consideration of the building world in 2050: Building Culture, Participation, Automation, Connectivity, Climate Neutrality, Resilience and Circularity. In addition, four contrasting future scenarios were developed, which show the broad spectrum of possible development paths and stimulate reflection and discussion about future possibilities and necessities for action.
